Symbiosis

There are many different examples of symbiosis. Some can be found in your very own backyard or even on you! Symbiosis is sorted into three different types. There is commensalism which is when one organism is benefiting and the other is unharmed. The other type is mutalism which is when both organisms benefit. The third is parasitism which is one organism is benefiting and the other is harmed. An example of commensalism is a whale and the barnacle. The barnacle gets nutrients and the whale dose not mind. An example of mutalism is digestive bacteria and a human. They are both helped. The digestive bacteria feeds and the human has help digesting. An example of parasitism is weeds and a plant. The weeds have an area to live and they take over the plant and get nutrients off them and block some of the sunlight and oxygen. The plant is harmed because the plant normally dies. As you can see, in each of these relationships, one of the organisms will always benefit. The organisms leave on, in, or near the other organism. There are so many different examples of symbiosis and can be found pretty much anywhere.

New Gecko Species Discovered

I feel that this is very interesting and cool. It is always wonderful to welcome new species to our world. These tiny geckos area very cute and will hopefully have much to contribute to it's surroundings. These new animals are very tiny and the one they found was only half the size of the man's finger. The new reptile was named Lepidad bulie. They sent over eggs in a Kleenex but unfortunately, only one out of nine made it because the other eight died from the sudden change in temperature. It is also unfortunate that the people that discovered the animal had seen it cut in half all bloody but it is good that they found it because now we know about them and can continue to do further research on these tiny reptiles. The tiny creatures have intresting and detailed patterns on there backs and usually come in dry colors. They live on the tops of trees. It is so wonderful that these new animals were discoverd and I am very exited to read more about them and possibly find out were they have come from and why they were just found by us humans.

New Habitat for LA Zoo Elephants

I believe that this is a wonderful thing that they are helping theses elephants. It is bad enough that they are away from their home and natural habitat so it is better that now they can be in a more comfortable environment. It is also good that some celebraties have even made the commitment to the elephants. I feel very bad that they are away from their natural habitats but at least now they can be away from being hunted for ivory. They are very rare and tall unique and amazing creatures, I would hate to have to see anything bad happen to them. Though this is a good thing about being in a zoo it is also very sad. The animals are trapped in a glassed in area, away from most of their family and natural area. That has to be difficult even though they are just animals. The reason why they are there is to be studied and for our entertainment of seeing them and it is our fault as humans that they are not in their true living area. Since it is our fault, it is also our duty to keep them in a good community and give them space and until recently, no one has done anything about that and they were living in a small area which can really damage them in many ways. In conclusion, I think it is very good that they are making positive changes on the elaphants living areas because they shouldn't even be here, in the zoo, in the first place because they should have the right to be free, just as we do.

cow cloning

In the following article,I read about the cloning of cows. There are pros and cons regarding this situation. I personally believe that it is a bad idea. The reason why I believe it is a bad idea is because cows are made for a reason and they are supposed to be individual. Not one is alike and personally if someone wanted to clone me, I wouldn't want to be cloned. It is this basic ethical reason that I do not believe in cloning. Cloned cows have a tendency to die right after birth. It is not fair to make a cow give birth only to have their baby die.The cows are meant to all be unique and the whole idea of having two or more of the same cow is strange. Also, they are not using the cows for food, but for breeding reasons and I honestly don't see the reason for that. There are positives, but I don't think it's worth it because of the negatives. One of the positives is for the farmer to have more cows and more milk. Secondly to produce breeding stock. Third is for the meat. My point is, that personally, I think there are stronger negatives in this situation and that it really isn't worth the trouble just to have more meat and milk and since it goes against most moral standards. The cows that don't get cloned, and are not as perfect aren't going to have as much of a purpose and I would hate to have them killed just because their genes are not as good as the clones genes. Thanks for reading hope you agree!
